The College has its roots in the Kila Higher Secondary School which was set up in 1950. It was diversified keeping Kila H.S.S. intact delivering Higher Secondary Education and came into being as Ambah Post Graduate College in the year 1959. The College laid the foundation of Higher Education in the town supporting hundreds of students who could not afford to leave Ambah for this purpose.
Over the years, since its inception the College holds a unique position of pride in the delivery of quality higher education and as a result it is given the status of autonomous college by the UGC and the State Government. I am sure that the rich traditions of this institution would always attract the youth and produce an institution par excellence in all its values.

With 54 years of history in producing quality citizens, Ambah PG College has a good Alumni base that has significantly contributed in the nation building process. The Alumni of the College have done exceedingly well in all spheres of life at all the levels- local, national and international. Many of them brought name and fame for themselves as well as to the college. Apart from academics; co-curricular activities, sports, adventure and cultural development form an important part of the life of the College. This importance is well indicated in the spread of facilities at the College campus. We have N.C.C., N.S.S., Red Cross and other societies which are very active in their respective programmes. These all support over all personality development of our students. It delights me to say that our students never indulge in practices of unfair means.
